How to Remove a Background From a Photo
A clear background can make your subject stand out in product listings, presentations and social media posts.
1. Start with a clear original
Choose an image with good lighting and a visible boundary between subject and background. High contrast often helps when hair, glass or thin objects are involved.
2. Upload and isolate the subject
Open the Background Remover, select a PNG, JPG or WEBP file and begin processing. Our on-server segmentation model estimates which pixels belong to the main subject.
3. Pick the right export
Choose a transparent PNG for design work or a white background for shops. Transparency is not supported by JPG, so use PNG when you need to place the subject over another image.
4. Review important edges
Zoom in around hair, shoes, product handles and semi-transparent materials. AI segmentation may not be perfect; a better source photo can improve the result.
